Salary: $25.00 - $55.00 per hour

Fiber optic operator is responsible for running equipment, installation, maintenance and repair of fiber optic cables and related infrastructure.  The role includes underground cable work, and ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities:

Operate equipment used in the installation of fiber optic cables, plows, trenchers, directional drills and splicers.  

Read and interpret construction drawings and network schematics.

Maintain accurate records.

Comply with all industry safety standards.

Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth project execution.

Identify and report potential hazards or issues in the field.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

1-3 years experience in the fiber optic systems.

Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools safely

Valid drivers license and clean driving record

Physical ability to work outdoors in various conditions and lift up to 50lbs

Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills

Ability to work independently and with a team

Working Conditions:

Field based role with often times travel involved.

May involve extended hours.
